The Veda
Veda is a Sanskrit word that is often translated as knowledge. This single word translation is rather limiting. Veda can be seen as the source as well as the repository of all knowledge. In the Vedic sense, knowledge has organising power and every created entity comes about through that organising principle. Veda is seen as the organising power within each creation as well as the commentator on its own creation. The Veda presents the story of how the one unified field of life becomes this multifarious creation. It is also the principle that links back the creation to its source.
When knowledge is lost and we forget our infinite source, we see ourselves in limited terms and experience fear and suffering. We are like a wave on the ocean that gets identified with its limited structure and forgets its infinite source. It experiences the ups and downs of its existence but forgets that it is part of the great play of the infinite ocean.
The Veda is available to every wave of creation to help it link back to our infinite source. When we realises that we are a part of that great majestic power of the ocean of life, we begin to really enjoy everything that life gives us.
